WHAT'S ON FREEVIEW
The BBC is by far the biggest provider of services to Freeview. As well as the complete selection of BBC Digital TV channels (BBC ONE NI, BBC TWO NI, BBC CHOICE, BBC FOUR, BBC NEWS 24, CBBC, CBeebies, and BBC PARLIAMENT), you have access to a range of four new audio services from the BBC - 6 Music, Radio 7, 1xtra, 5 Live Sports Plus, (as well as Radio 5 itself for some reason). Sky are also well represented with Sky News, Sky Sports News, and Sky Travel. New channels developed especially for Freeview include UK History, a new general entertainment channel from Telewest called FTN, MTV's new service TMF (The Music Factory) and its EMAP rival, The Hits (a mixture of The Box and Smash Hits).

HOW DO I GET FREEVIEW?
You will have to either purchase a new integrated Digital Television - cost approx £400 - or a Free To Air Digital Reciever. Pace currently manufacture one, available for £99, see
www.pacefreetoview.co.uk . Nokia have launched a second more expensive one, the Mediamaster, costing £150. Anyone who purchased outright their ONdigital decoder will also be able to recieve DTT channels. The position regarding those who rented their boxes is unknown - ITV Digital's liquidators may wish to repossess them. See our News Centre for the latest developments.

TELETEXT
Ordinary analogue teletext services are not available for DTT. Instead MHEG-5 Digital teletext services will be available. BBCi provides a digital teletext service, and with the launch of Freeview now has access to three interactive screens for applications such as multiscreen Wimbledon, previously only available to DSat and DCab viewers. To access MHEG-5 Teletext services, you tune to the channel they are on(eg, #9 for Teletext Limited), then press "text" on the digibox (not TV) remote control.
