BCI seeks expressions of interest in new TV services

May be provided by cable, MMDS, or satellite.

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has invited expressions of interest in those who might wish to become television programme contractors under the Broadcasting Act 2002. The Act allows new television services to be provided via Cable/MMDS and/or satellite. As well as commercial stations, community and local groups may also apply for contracts under specific sections of the Act. As of yet its not known who might apply to provide services, although its speculated a local television service for Dublin may be on the cards. Expressions of interest must be submitted in accordance with the guidelines available on www.bci.ie
