Sky News poach Grainne Seoige

TV3 News presenter to be face of Sky News Ireland.

Sky News has announced that Grainne Seoige, currently co-anchor (with Alan Cantwell) of TV3 News @ 5:30 (aka First Edition) and TV3 News @ 6:30, is to present (with another presenter) Sky News Ireland’s new Nine O’Clock News bulitten. The other presenter of the bulitten and the reporters to work on the programme will be announced shortly. It is yet to be announced whether Seoige will present from Dublin or Millbank, though it is known that one of the presenters will work in each location. Lisa Burke will present the Irish weather forecast from Isleworth.

Nick Pollard, Head of Sky News, said: “Gráinne is a first class journalist and anchor. Her authority and experience presenting nightly news bulletins made her the perfect choice to launch Sky News’ new Irish service. We are delighted to have her on board.”

Mark Deering, Director, Sky Ireland, added: "Recruiting Gráinne underlines Sky Ireland's commitment to offering quality programming and choice to Irish viewers."
