Games 13&14
Well here we are again, the lads are playing a game every two days and it shows. You can really see the tiredness in them now. All games are though at the end of the
season, but with very little rest in between it's that bit harder. It's the return visit of Casta Celtic tonight and as you know we need some results badly.Casta are near the bottom of the table,
but I think that is harsh on them. They are a good physical side, not afraid to play nice football when they can. There must have been some pressure put on Finglas to get some shots in on goal, as
they peppered Casta's goal from every angle. Owens and Jameson were the most menacing, and although it was nice for Reilly to get a start his shots left a lot to be desired. We scored thanks to
persistence from Kelly who put Ahernzer in, up the left wing and his cross was met by Jameson coming in at the back post. 1-0.
Both teams hit the crossbar, us with Owens, and Reilly missed a sitter. It was a deep free kick met by Reilly on the 6yrd line, and he back passed it to the
thankful keeper. He definitely looked rusty indeed. But he gets away with it only because of the bizarrest OG I have ever seen. It's Castas throw in, at their corner flag. It's thrown to the keeper,
who knocks it back to the right full. Nothing wrong so far, until he tries to clear the ball up field. He slices it along the by-line, over the keeper in to an open goal.
Funny or what. 2-0 Finglas

So Wed. night and another game, It's away to Blanch this time. Finglas look stunned at the start, as the pace and movement of Blanch have them left standing. A few offsides
and some bad finishing give Finglas time to regroup and catch their breath. When it seemed like the teams would change around at nil nil, there was a mix up with Sean and a back pass. Sean hesitated
and the nippy forward scored an easy opener. Finglas had some chances themselves, with Owens(again) and Ahernzer both shooting wide.
The second half was a case of who could play the offside the best, or who called it the loudest. Finglas did get Reilly down the right wing late on, and he floated in a
cross which had the defence in trouble. Ahernzer was at hand to squeeze the ball past the keeper.
It was another physical game and players are getting knocks left, right and centre. They will have to patch themselves up as there is another game on Saturday. 1-1
here, a disserved point apiece.
