V's Maypark Celtic
Mon APRIL 28th
Finglas dropped two points tonight it has to be said, we had already beaten Maypark before Christmas and they didn't play as good this time round. It was a case of missed
chances and bad defending through out the first half, Rob Owens had most of the goal attempts, but left his shooting boots at home. Maypark for their part got bodies behind the ball when needed and
used the long ball over the top well. With Sean hesitating when coming off his line this was were the goal would come from, it was just a matter of time. And when you fail to score in a scrappy game
like this, conceding one is a real sucker punch.
1-0 to Maypark at half time and Finglas have struggled. The back four have been as solid as they can be, with a shaky Sean in goal, the mid field is a make shift
one and they need to put their foot on the ball and control the game. Because of this the front two are seeing very little of the ball. The changes were made in the second half, but could have
been at bit sooner as Reilly put himself about and started to link up with the forwards, this woke Finglas up and it was game on.
Reilly was fouled 30 yards from gaol, Tom Kelly took a quick free in to Owens who shot straight at the keeper, but this time Keith was on hand to score and a salvage a
point for the home team. A bad match to report on, nothing much else happened we all should have just gone to the pub tonight instead
A poor performance by Finglas, it will be a tough finish to the season with two games a week, the question is will they be focused on the games and get the results
they need? Finglas are looking for at least a top three finish but the performances will have to improve. Bring on DHL next we owe them one,"Come on Finglas"
