 A beautiful place, with a 2
 mile sandy beach and a  picturesque harbour,  situated on the shores of  Lough Swilly.

 There is no actual town of  Portsalon, the main area is  around the harbour where a  bar and grocery shop are  combined in one building  with a cafe close by. Other  bars and shops are only a  short distance away.

Both the house and the location are truly magnificent and the views of the Bay and the Beach spectacular - we have been raving about the place since we got back home - we hope to get back again next year.

Portsalon itself is a renowned scenic area with fabulous walks and views from virtually everywhere.  It is approximately 20 miles from Letterkenny where there are excellent shopping facilities, restaurants/pubs, theatre etc.  Portsalon has a splendid 18 hole links golf course and the shelter of the harbour makes the village an appealing spot for sailing, boating and fishing.  According to the 'Observer' travel writer, Willy Newlands, Ballymastocker beach was listed as the second most beautiful beach in the world (behind Anse Victoria in the Seychelles!).
